Named after its founder, Harry Gordon Selfridfge, Selfridges & Co. opened in Oxford Street, London in early 1909. A natural
self publicist Mr Selfridge created advertising campaigns on a scale previously unknown.
The branding was carried through
to the many clocks around the store including these giants which took pride of place over the new lift stations.
